How about “Now THERE’S your problem”. You guys or any or all of your characters could use the line no matter what situation or subject your dealing with (automotive, ethical, philosophical etc.) It works well for all smart aleck know-it alls.
You Knuckleheads! Who designed your website??
anyway
“The Knuckleheads” is the correct name for the new show.
You guys say it about 20 times each show!
The shows, by the way, always make my day. thanks JB
I think your show should be named “Lug Nut and Dip Stick Talk Cars”. Those are my favorite car parts. Okay, I win, huh?! Of course I win.
Good luck.

Hi. My suggestion would be “Tom and Ray Back at the Shop”. This could be shortened to
“Back at the Shop” and billing could be reversed (or even alternated weekly)as the need arises.
I suggest “Back at the Shop” because it’s a phrase you use on the radio show, and thus would create the link to the PBS program and would let the viewers find out what really goes
on “Back at the Shop”. It also gives you freedom to take the program in any direction rather than immediately limiting you through use of a catch phrase or “attitudinal” title
which might lead to certain expectations of program content.
Thanks for your consideration. Moe Bailey
Car Talk 2D (OK - we love the show - but your sibling rivalry each week led us to this name - the 2D = 2 Dummies or – from your loving fans = 2 Dimensional (since you’re moving to television). Keep up the great work!
As Cosmos and Cars Collide. As president of the Syracuse Holistic Health Council, I like to say that like the rest of NPR, Car Talk expresses within its hour a kind of elegant balance between those cosmic-spiritual-mechanical principles that make life so interesting. Keep up the good job–each week it just goes on. Regardless of what the wives say, there is clearly a generosity of both your spirits that somehow contributes towards that (holistic) heart which makes your Car Talk so incredibly fun to listen to.
Anyhow, this came to me last week when I heard your pitch, I almost forgot to follow thru. I kind of think you need something that plants the idea that mired in the fan belts, engines, chassis of cars lie the mysteries of the Cosmos. Keep up the good work guys!
