Car Talk TV: Monkeys With Wrenches

While this name suggests associations with “grease monkeys” (which has been proposed by others), and perhaps with “monkey wrenches” (which I haven’t seen proposed yet), that is not its origin.

It is well known that an infinite number of monkeys with an infinite number of typewriters could eventually produce the works of Shakespeare, or at least a sonnet.

The question to be answered by your show is: “Could an infinite number of monkeys with an infinite number of wrenches, eventually fix a car?” That I’d like to see!

Well, my idea originates from a talk I had with my dad a while back about a friend of the family who had just bought a car with close to 300,000 miles on it! My dad said, “He’s living on borrowed time”, and as well as laughing out loud when my dad stated that, I thought it could be a good name for your show. “Livin’ On Borrowed Time- with Click and Clack”, or something like that. Hope that helps.
