I was driving home last night when my speedometer jumped from 35 mph to 110, down to 0, back up and down. Then the low gas light flashed on and off a few times, though I had half a tank of gas. Everything went back to normal and seems OK now, but I’m worried about this happening again. The van has over 120,000 miles on it.
The trouble may be due to voltage spikes coming from the alternator.
I had that problem on my 02 Dodge Grand Caravan ,a new alternator and battery fixed it.
Take it to most any major auto parts store where they will test your battery & alternator for free…since I’m also thinking alternator.
