When i got my accent in 2018 i bought an extended warranty for bumper to bumper coverage for 10yrs or 100k miles. I passed the miles today.
It was only in the shop for 2 recalls. 1 for a trunk latch and 1 for the update to supposedly make it harder to steal.
Aside from a brief scare on oil consumption when i switched to synthetic, its been a flawless car. I switched to 10w30 semi synthetic at 85k and it uses a half quart in 5k OCI. An encounter with a suicidal racoon did put it in a body shop for a couple of days.
Oil analysis shows minimal wear. If it runs another 40k ill be retired and it will have served its purpose. I know, it should last this long. But with all the negative things with the brand, im glad its been a good one.

I don’t believe the Hyundai Accent has the engine that’s been so problematic
Agreed, I don’t remember hearing a lot about the Accent’s, and the newer ones don’t have a lot of complaints on car complaints…
And as many issues as I have seen with the Santa Fe’s, I also had a customer that his went with well over 500,000 miles with not much more than the standard maintenance… You can get a vehicle built on a Wednesday every now and then…
Just give it a hug and a kiss every night at bed time and show it some love and it should last a good long while… lol

This is why Consumers Reports says that the average extended warranty pays back 12 cents on a dollar.
