my car is smoking and the smoke smells bad.if i open my bonet there is also a dull smell,its a 1999 model kb 280 turbo deisel

Diesels smoke. especially an 18 year old one.

What color is the smoke? When does the smoke happen? is the smoke a new thing?

Yep, black smoke-fuel issue, white smoke-coolant or possible fuel issue, blue smoke-oil burning/worn engine. I suspect you’ve got an injector pump or injector issue so its off to a good diesel shop for an analysis.
