Must 2023 Lexus RX350h Cruise Control use forward-facing camera?

Driving blood redightsiren to a distant hospital.
Interstate hightway surface damp. Light snow, tiny flakes, apparently built up on the oval glass ( L ) emblem in the front grill.
Cruise Control turns off.

Can a Setting be changed so the Cruise Control still functions when the forward-facing camera in the ( L ) becomes obscured? (When the snow melts in warmer air, the Cruise Control can be set again.)

Also dislike when the RX350h slows for a curve, sometimes even brakes, though traveling at the speed limit through the curve is perfectly fine.

Thank you.

Read your owners manual for the answers to those questions. It should tell you if they can be turned off.

I would guess that the forward-facing camera in your Lexus RX 350h (which works with the millimeter-wave radar) monitors the distance, speed, and lane position of the vehicles directly ahead to maintain a set following distance. This system enables automatic braking, acceleration, and lane-centering to keep the vehicle at a safe distance.

So, I imagine that if the sensors cannot pick up the above mentioned information to function properly, it is not capable of disabling the safety features…

Toyota calls it Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)…

You are wanting to select Constant Speed Control Mode, or regular non DRCC mode…

Here is what my manual says to do, I think your Lexus is the same…

There is a good reason why DRCC does not work correctly when snowing…

EDITed to add...

Use the owners manual or the hundreds of Youtube vidios to solve the cruise control problem ?

Why would anyone do that ?

Please just use the name LEXUS

You’re NOT being cute when you call it something else

And it’s not funny, either

Never was

If you hate the car so much, sell it and buy a different brand

Put your money where your mouth is

That type of shtick might be funny when it’s first used.
When it’s used over, and over, and over again, it ceases to be even vaguely amusing.

It’s fixed now… Meant to do it earlier…

I think the spelling change was done by a moderater.

Nope, I did it… There are a selected few of us (10) that can do it…

How did you get that ? Are you now a Moderator ? 9 others ? Would like to know who is on that list.

It was granted back around Sep 2025, it basically gives us access to recategorize and rename topics, that is about it… I have changed/corrected a few topics… We have NO moderator ability’s so don’t sweat it… I may be the only one of us that has done anything with it… lol

Thank you. Shall read when I have time.

Why would anything other than speed adjust the Cruise Contol throttle?
Sometimes it even brakes when detecting a vehicle ahead though my lane is clear.

I can set my DRCC to a higher speed than the vehicle in front of me and I don’t have to deal with changing my speed with the traffic, it self adjust itself, if the vehicle brakes in front of me, my truck brakes also, it will stay at the preset (level) distance… It however turns off at about 25ish MPH and you have to take over braking… I use DRCC all the time and love it… Now if you have your distance set to the furthest distance away and someone pulls in front of you, then the truck will hit the brakes (hard if needed) until you are at the predetermined distance… and if a vehicle is going slower than your set speed and changes lanes, the truck will automatically speed back up until it either reaches it’s speed or gets to the predetermined distance… I have 3 preset distances to choose the gap from…
