Iowa city. Home of the black Ángel in the cemetery. You are not supposed to look at it but I did anyway.
A friend of the neighbor had a 62 fairlane or so when they came out. Claimed he’d shift out of 2nd at 60.
Well another diverging post
. Had to Google.

The Black Angel is a famous, imposing bronze statue in Iowa City’s Oakland Cemetery, known for its dark color and numerous local legends, particularly those involving curses and death. Originally a golden-bronze, it turned black due to oxidation, leading to myths that it darkens with each Halloween or that touching or kissing it brings misfortune, though it was commissioned by Teresa Feldevert as a memorial for her husband and son. The statue, designed by Mario Korbel, stands over the graves of Nicholas Feldevert, his wife Teresa, and her son Edward Dolezal, and has become a popular, spooky local attraction.
I guess we can make this car related, we used to practice speed shifting a three on the tree Dodge truck on a the gravel roads at a local cemetery.
That was a great story! Thanks for sharing.
Back in the mid-'60s, the county police seized a guy’s car because it had been used in some sort of criminal activity, and then they proceeded to use it to catch speeders.
The car in question was a bright yellow1960 Ford Sunliner convertible, with a 390 under the hood. Just imagine a driver’s surprise when he was pulled-over by that unmarked car!
That tree trunk tombstone for the son is also unique.
