After driving for about 20 min. parked but left vehicle running and in park. when started driving again the transfer case indicator light kept flashing followed by
the temp gauge indicated overheating. stopped but didn’t turn vehicle off. would not shift into 4wd. turned vehicle off then back on and it did shift into 4wd and
the transfer case light went off. however the temperature gauge did indicate it was still overheating. What do you think is the problem?
Have you checked the coolant level? There might be a protective function that would not let you shift in 4wd with the engine overheating? Have you checked your transmission oil level? I would not drive a car with the temp gauge on high, you will cause major damage to the engine if not already done.
