2016 Town amd Country. Had 0128 code, replaced thermostat, temp is holding properly.
Can I disconnect battery to clear codes and take for emmision test ?
How long will it take for codes to clear, if problem is repaired ?
Disconnecting the battery will cause the readiness monitors to reset. That means the vehicle can’t be be smog tested until the readiness monitors complete. Until that happens, the vehicle won’t pass the smog test.
I would first drive the vehicle for a while and see if the Check Light turns off by itself.

Just keep driving the T&C until the monitors clear. That’s the quickest way to prep the van for smog testing since you have to do it anyway.

TIP: you can go to about any parts house and check the status of the readiness monitors before going to emissions testing to make sure all have complete (or however many need to be complete), but do not clear the codes their either, or you will be starting over… Just because the CEL/MIL light is not on, does not mean they are all reset…
