Has anyone other than me been unfortunate enough th have paid to replace the fuel gauge (on a '98 E430) TWICE? Mercedes says the car is out of warranty
(of course), but will not address the issue of their bad engineering [like no other car in the world] or quality control. I am the original owner and the car has about 76,500 miles on it.
Badbenz
I don’t know if there is a problem with the engineering or quality control of the fuel gauges, but you should also consider that the replacement may have been flawed (like there may have been a reason it failed and the dealer failed to find that reason, which remains in your car, or maybe you were just unlucky. It happens.
Maybe someone here will know of a problem and may be able to offer you some help. I’m sorry that the only thoughts I can offer don’t really help you much.
