I was involved in a hit and run a few weeks back, hitting the front passenger side of my car. Cosmetic damage only (or so I thought)

I was told it was the immobiliser in the key fob and I needed to change batteries, did that with no luck. Battery has plenty of juice. If I repeat what I did in the video about 30 odd times it eventually fires up.
Any ideas?
