I’m having a hard time deciding between purchasing a mazda 3 hatchback, or subaru outback, both are 2008 low miles
If you are going to drive much on snow/ice, I’d go with the Subie, otherwise I’d go a bit for the 3, but you won’t go wrong with either, if you like them both after a long test drive.
They are both reliable vehicles, with the Subaru having somewhat of an edge.
As to driving dynamics, however, they are very different.
As texases said, if you have occasion to drive on snow and/or ice, the Subaru is the one to go for. On the other hand, if “sporting” driving is your thing, the Mazda 3 will be more satisfying.
Do you feel you need the AWD capabilities of the Subaru?
If not the Mazda3 will give you sportier driving characteristics and better fuel mileage.
Both are reliable cars.
I’m currently driving a Subaru Legacy wagon, but if I were in your position I think I’d take the Mazda3 hatchback. I’ve decided I can live without the AWD, and I don’t like the raised suspension on the Outback.
