I have a 2002 GMC Safari Van that occasionally will miss and/or idle rough. Check engine light comes on when pulling a long hill. A friend with a code reader pulled up MAF Sensor. Would a bad MAF cause these problems or does it sound like something else?
Yes. A faulty/dirty MAF sensor can cause the symtoms you describe. Obtain an aerosol can of MAF sensor cleaner and try cleaning the MAF sensor.
