I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu, which has never given me problems. Recently it got really loud, especially when I turn to the right. When I turn left the rumble, which seems to be coming from the front of the car, completely stops. I looked at the muffler and there doesn’t seem to be anything loose. Any ideas?
You describe the noise of a bad front wheel bearing.
Tester
I second having the wheel bearings checked. Both front bearings went bad on my 2000 Blazer after new tires were installed. I thought the noise was coming from the tires at first. The sound would change as the steering wheel was turned to either side.
I think it’s your CV axles. Take it to a shop, or they’ll eventually break. Should cost a few hundred.
