Impressive!
My Rav4 hybrid takes about 14 gallons of gas and has a range of 595 miles. We drove from NH to DC and I only stopped for gas because we needed to use the rest stop. We would have had a 1/4 tank left if we drove straight through.

@jtsanders you still havenāt answered if your sister has a regular Camry hybrid or the plug-in version
Thank you
I didnāt ask her yet. Iāll send a text later.
When was a plug-in hybrid offered?
On Fuel Economy .gov there is Prius PHEV and Rav4 PHEV, no Camry.
No plug in hybrid camry has ever been offered,
Yota, and Honda for that matter, know what not to mess with. Proven formula!
Hereās the clarification: she drives a 2019 Camry XLE hybrid. This was before the PHEV.
Yeah, I was mistaken about Camrys being available as PHEV
I didnāt know the MY until I asked. I thought it was newer, and probably a PHEV. They also have a PHEV Prius.
Iāve been reading the current generation Camry has been taking sales away from the Prius
I guess many people think 50mpg in a decent mid-size car means no more reason to buy a Prius
Plus the Prius pricing is all wrong, imo
It costs almost as much as the bigger Camry
The camry and corolla hybrids, not to mention rav4 hybrids are giving buyers options latest prius is amazing but owners of older prius say itās sacrificed comfort for style. Camry or Rav4 meets their needs better. You can pick which of many toyota hybrids works best and enjoy.
They bought the Prius when the tax credit was available for the Prius PHEV. That made it a lot less expensive than the regular Prius.
I canāt speak about the other vehicles, but the reason the demand is so high for the Highlander is because production numbers are way way down. They arenāt even making 1/3rd the number of Highlanders they did just 4 years ago.
Those stats seem to indicate that Lucid models are selling very well. And yet, rumors of impending bankruptcy are flying around in the news media.
According to Forbes magazine⦠Lucid posted a net loss of over $1.13 billion in its first quarter of 2026, and went through two rounds of layoffs, cutting 12% of its workforce in February and another 18% in June.
On a distantly-related note, yesterday I saw a Fisker Ocean driving around in my neighborhood. I wonder if that guy realizes that his Fisker is destined to be a brick in the not-too-distant future.
Thereās no way Iād buy a Lucid or Rivian
Iām not confident either will be around for another 10 or 15 years
The same reason the Lucid model is on that chart. Very low production volumes and so the demand outpaces the availability.
Especially since there are good alternatives from mainline companies, unlike years ago.
Iāve read that the Production capacity has gone to the Grand Highlander and the TX more than the highlander even with increasing sales.
Doesnāt matter the reason. Highlander sales are down. The Grand Highlander is a completely different vehicle. The difference between the Grand Highlander and the Highlander is the same difference between the Highlander and the Rav4. Rav4 is way too small for me, and the Grand Highlander is way too big.
