I have a lexus sc400, which when I leave the car outside under direct sunlight oe than 2-3 hours, it has a problem. The problem is that the car starts but it will turns off right away. The car RPM goes down from 1 to 0 and the engine shuts down.
I have change the motor relay and still have the same problem.
Does anyone know anything about this problem? Please help me.
Thank you
Daniel

It would big help to know the year and mileage of the vehicle.
Generally this indicates an ignition component becoming heat sensitive. But there are just too many possibilities. The car needs to be looked at hands-on.

When the engine is shutoff, there is fuel pressure held in the fuel lines. This residual pressure would be enough to start the car; but, if the fuel pump wasn’t operating, the engine would quickly stop. A fuel pressure gage, attached to the engine, would show if the fuel pressure is falling off. In which case, the fuel pump and its power supply (12 volts) would have to checked.
