My car makes a loud crunching sound when I make a HARD left turn. It also goes wah wah wah wah with increasing speed the faster I drive. I had it to the dealer and spent $300 for diagnosis and replacement of the Universal Joint… there has been no change. Any ideas?
Year? Mileage? Automatic or manual?
Sorry… 1999 with just over 150,000 miles and an automatic.
The problem might be with a worn ball joint. These can make a crunching sound when a heavy side load is put on the tire. A worn ball joint will also effect the camber in the alignment causing the tire to lean onto it’s sidewall while turning causing the wha wha sound.
