The front seals on my Ford truck were leaking. A friend told me to put 1/2 can of brake fluid in my oil and it would stop the leak. I put the fluid in and it did stop the leak. A mechanic stated that this was not good because it could do damage to the engine. Your thoughts?
There are many oil friendly stop leaks available. Brake fluid is not one of them. Change your oil with a high mileage blend or get some engine oil stop leak and add it to the fresh oil. Get this contaminated oil out of the crankcase before you suffer any more damage.
