Is that level of rust on the knuckles normal? Looks like it might be bare unpainted uncoated metal from Honda?

Steering knuckles are usually painted when new.

But the paint doesn’t last long due to the environment they’re exposed to.

But it really doesn’t matter. The rest of the car would rust away before the steering knuckles would.
