If they are retired health care workers, and no longer working, then they don’t qualify for this service.
So yes, it’s only for “working people”
If you read Mazda’s main site about this program, they will spend $5 million on it. Given they sold 278,000 vehicles in the USA in 2019, that works out to about $18 per vehicle.
It is a “feel good” program in times like this. Yes some of the health care workers would benefit from an oil change during the 18 days that this program runs. Is spending money on cleaning their cars the best use of money, especially with so many in far greater need during this epidemic?
The $5 million Mazda is spending is being spent to maximize publicity and not to maximize addressing need.
I was not asserting it should only be for working people, rather noting that is is only available to working people.
