The battery presented in @Mustangman posting is not a Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) battery, it is a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO 4) battery.
There are Pros and Cons to these batteries… LiFePO 4 batteries can be cycled many more times than a Lead Acid Battery and could last 10 or more years… but they do not perform well in cold climates. The LiFePO 4 battery does not contain the toxic ingredients of a Lead Acid Battery. A LiFePO 4 battery is also much lighter than a lead acid battery.
There are many other differences and some may be important to the various users and the higher upfront cost compared to a lead acid battery may be the deciding factor for the present time period…
I am going to back pedal on my statement on the performance of LiFePO 4 batteries when it is cold… Seems there a lot of AI responses to various Google queries with too much mixed information from the various web sites and there are a lot of contradictions… The only thing that seems to remain consistent is that LiFePO 4 batteries do not charge too well when it is cold and should not be fast charged when below freezing.
I live in southeastern Virginia and my vehicles are garaged so I do not have to debate the pros and cons too much…
