The tire and wheel are normal. You’re not measuring properly.

@asemaster is correct. You measure the wheel bead to bead, not lip to lip.

The tire fits the wheel and holds air . It has never occurred to me to measure the wheel .

I asked the question because I am trying to fit hubcaps. It’s a little confusing so I asked. Thanks for putting me down. Must feel good.

16.5” tires have warnings on sidewalk that says do not mount on 16” wheels. I agree if tire says 16” you have 16” wheels.

Are the wheels stock? What car? I ask because you might need to measure the wheel where the hubcap snaps in. It also depends on what hubcaps you have in mind. Baby moon hubcaps would mount in the center for instance.

I guess I should say what I dealt with. So, I picked up some oem toyota camry wheel covers, locally off of Offerup.The new wheel covers measured 16.25" or something like that I didn’t know that wheel covers are actually 17" on 16" wheels.
