Is it a bad compressor?

I have a 2001 Honda Pilot with over 100,000 miles on it. When I turn the wheel, it sounds like the compressor releasing air. Is this a problem I should have looked at? I would like to keep this car running for another 5 years!

Your symptoms don’t indicate a bad AC compressor; more likely look at your power steering pump and see if that is where the wheezing is coming from.

The longer a problem goes the typically more expensive to address. I would have it looked at for something simple before it gets read expensive.

Also if you have not already done this get your timing belt changed. It is due and will fail between now and those 5 years with serious engine damage resulting.
