I’m trying to figure out what could be the reason why I have Intermittent wiper operation on this truck. It’s a 99 Chevy 1500 4.8 4X4. It’s almost like the wipers have a mind of their own. Sometimes working properly but most often not operating when needed the most. Is this one of the set-ups that has a pc board with a bad/cold solder connection? I’m sure that one of the regulars here has come across this at some time or another and found it to be a simple fix. Open to any suggestions…
These Chevy models have a common problem with their “wiper motor pulse board module.” If you are lucky you can remove it and clean the connectors and it may start to function again. Check the board for bad solder joints as well.
@missileman… I was finally able to get to the truck and pull out the pulse board. As you can see, there is a trace that is lifted and looks like it separates once heated up a little. Also noted several cold solder joints. Whent ahead and ordered a new one vs repairing this one for many more trouble free years of operation. Will update when job is completed.

Kudos to both of you. Nice work!
I too had to repair a cold joint in a PC board, in my case in the third brakelight. Perhaps there’s a business opportunity here: IPC training for the Chinese!
