My 98 toyota corolla (160,000 miles) is making a scraping, grinding noise on the front end of the driver’s side at low speeds - sometimes. Seems to be fine when I start out. Fine on the freeway. But when I slow down or am moving at a crawl thanks to a traffic jam, it emits scary noises from the front end. Seems to happen mainly when I have my foot on the brake, although sometimes it happens when I’m just moving very slowly. It is intermittant. I took it to a brake shop who of course didn’t hear the noise and said the brakes were fine. Where should I look next? Is this safe to drive until it’s repaired? Thanks. The ignorant car owner
