I have a 1999 Infiniti G20. My right head light burnt out. I replaced it - a easy 2 minute problem - I also wire brushed the neg lead on the battery to get some oxidation off.
Now, when I shut the car doors I noticed the dome light still on. No matter what I do, I must switch it to OFF instead of leaving it in the AUTO position. (Yes I made sure all of the doors are shut) The second issue is that now when I click the remote to lock the car, the doors lock, the alarm sets, but the alarm system no longer flashes the hazards.
So, did a gremlin jump in when I had the hood open? Have I created a short in the system somehow that would turn on the AUTO dome light permanent and cause the hazards not to flash when activating the alarm?
Many thanks for your opinions and any help.
I assume you disconnected the battery cable from the battery when you cleaned it. If so, you most likely changed the way the systems are programmed when you did that and you will have to reprogram the items to the way you want them to be. The info to do that should be in the owner’s manual.
