He would be a good choice, except that he has no F1 experience and he would be forgoing any championship hopes. I prefer the Checo/Bottas combination. Lots and lots of experience and neither of those 2 would be championship contenders anyway. For both, it would be a step up.

I would love to see him racing in F1 but I don’t think he is very much interested in moving to Formula 1.

Rumor has it that Bottas and Perez is a done deal and will be announced shortly. Both are proven winners with lots of experience. And experience is what Cadillac will need in buckets. Their staff is very experienced but the mountain they need to climb is huge.

Huge, indeed!!

Here’s a little more information about Cadillac’s F1 team. They’ll start with Ferrari power and expect to have a GM unit by 2030.

Colton Herta could be on the move to Formula 2 in 2026 in order to chase more Super License points for a future Formula 1 drive.

Do you see this happening?

It is happening, not sure if this is the best decision Herta has made but I wish him all the best.

I think Herta is doing a good thing racing F2.

It introduces him to the FIA culture, re-learn the tracks and deal with the cut-throat racing in the F4/F3/F2/F1 ladder system. I’d like to see Herta get a good chance of success in F1 and I think test driver duties and F2 would really help.

New interview with Nolan Siegel where he talks about choosing IndyCar over Stanford, his first Indy 500, winning Le Mans, and signing with Arrow McLaren while still under 21. A pretty remarkable path so far.
