We got way off track, I started off complaining about the current state of indy racing and it tuned into a schoolyard argument.
Gosh, I thought it was an interesting discussion.
Do you recogn they use that water thing to get better mileage in F1 or Nascar?
Skip
LOL, but they did make a big deal out of the use of ethanol fuel in the indy 500 (of course it is held in IN).
They’ve ran it for a long time in that brand of racing. I don’t know that I’d be comfortable with it. I’d rather see the fire that’s burning my but than feel it and can’t figure out where it’s at.

Anytime DISNEY can make a spectator attraction which mirrors this “sport” (NASCAR) it kinda makes me wonder how professional the drivers really are. But let’s be fair . . . some folks criticize top fuel dragsters and their drivers " how hard is it to drive straight for 1/4 mile?" . Guess everybody has their own pet peeve . . . NASCAR seems to be the flavor of the post today. Rocketman
I know, but in the past they didn’t talk about “ethanol” during every pit stop. There appeared to be some “product placement” going on with the TV coverage.
Here’s the schedule:

Speed Channel usually carries the race. The next one’s at Watkins Glen! If you’re still in NC, you could be there in less than 10 hours! ;’)
Q: What’s faster than a top fuel dragster?
A: John Force’s mouth!
BTW, I like John. He’s a great interview. I’ve especially enjoyed the visits to Wind Tunnel.
YEAH! Tony Stewart,in an indy car!do you know how funny that sounds. he would need a 2 seater.
he is on the correct PLANET. are you watching this stuff on a 13 inch TV,by any chance?
now thats humor. WHAT IS A BLOKE?
go to you tube ,and type in F-1 vs motorcycle. excellent ,reality,
and to each his own.
it is what it is!
admittedly i don’t know much about racing. but someone mentioned “stock” cars. i used to watch nascar when it was stock car racing. ths cars were mainly sponcered by the car companies. they were all different and excepting a few changes could be purchased at your local dealer. win on sunday, sell on monday. it took a lot of different talents to win, driver, enginering, manufacturing luck etc. if i turn on my tv on sunday and watch some nascar i can’t tell the fords, from the chevy’s from the dodges. there all the same shape w/ tubular frames and motors w/i a couple hp from each other. and anything that might let you tell them apart is just a sticker. i still enjoy open wheel, f1 and scca racing (especially vintage) the cars are not equal the drivers are not equal. the talant comes from what you do with what you have. now if you like nascar - great if you like any other kind of racing fine too. but please don’t put down the type of racing i like and i won’t put down yours. ps i also love v twin hill climbs
Amen and Amen…hey, isn’t the SC in NASCAR supposed to mean STOCK CAR? Since when does a multimillion dollar machine that’s nowhere near street legal qualify as a STOCK CAR?
If I had a couple billion dollars, I would start my own stock car racing franchise. The thing that would make it stand out is that the cars would be true stock and all street legal. Then I’d sue NASCAR for false advertising. Stock, indeed.
