My impala over heated on me and it doesn’t turn on… Can some body tell me what is wrong with it
I can’t see it from here.
Can you move the computer a little closer to the car?
;-))
Seriously, however, most of what we say will be just speculation, simply because we can’t examine the car, and there are many possibilities.
Also, “doesn’t turn on”, is not descriptive enough.
What happens when you turn the ignition key?
Does the starter turn, but the engine fails to run on its own?
Or, do you hear clicking noises when you turn the key?
Or, does nothing happen when you turn the key?
Have you checked the level of the coolant in the radiator (after it has cooled off)?
Have you checked the level of the motor oil?
Can you get electrical accessories to run?
Is there evidence of coolant leakage?
A couple of additional questions
How long was it driven in an overheated condition?
What is the color/condition of the coolant?
I drove it for a while… Then it stop on me… It had water…
Those very brief statements don’t tell us anything more than we knew previously.
However, now I have to wonder about one additional thing, namely…
Is the cooling system filled with water, or with the prescribed 50/50 mix of coolant and water?
If you really want help with this problem, you are going to need to answer all of the questions that edb1961 and I asked.
To the OP, if you are not sure how to answer the questions I suggest you have the Impala towed to an independent mechanic for a proper diagnosis and be prepared for bad news. Ask family, friends and neighbors for a recommendation.
