Idler arm

is it necessary to replace complete idler arm assembly or just the bushing

Sometimes you can only get the complete item…I would go with complete…bec if you dont then you may find your self doing the same job again soon.

I have found replacements from $40.00 to $140.00 How important is the maker and quality?

I think it depends. I recently had a problem with my idler arm, and the mechanic said the problem could be solved by just replacing the bushing. Hasn’t given me a problem since, and only cost me about $60.
