I suggest people take the comment “there is nothing in there you can hurt” with a bit of caution.

True, not IN the wheel well.

BUT - the brake lines are ‘behind’ the tire when looking toward the center of the car. Hack at the ice too vigorously and you might rip into the brake lines.

Yes, that sounds like I posted that once. What a memory I have. You can break anything if you are a hard worker. Sloth can be a blessing.

Subarus are notorious for this problem, and I am trying to figure out how to make a heated wheel well liner. Anyone who invents this can sell a lots of them.
