I was driving my 2004 4-cyl. Sonata at about 30 mph and the engine just cut out. No sputtering, loss of power, funny noises, smoke, heat, etc. All electical functioning. Belts in tact. Engine turns when attempting to start. I have checked the gas tank. Have gone as far as rebuilding the carburetor on an old Subaru in the past but not as motivated (don’t even own a repair manual for this car or any decent tools). Are there some easy things to check before taking it in for repairs?
Is the car running again, or has it not been able to start since?
Not been able to start since.
Is there a spark at one of the spark plugs? Have you tried starting fluid to see if it will catch/run until a squirt is used up?
