Curiously, it was news among the hypermilers in 2006 when a Japanese woman got 1455.9 miles on one tank of gas in a Prius: 112 mpg. Admittedly, her car doesn’t seem to have been heavily modified, and she set her record in the course of her routine commuting, not on a track. Look at www.cleanmpg.com.
