Hi, I recently bought a car and already totaled it :/. Well, I didn’t get a chance to transfer the title to my name yet and the insurance company is ready to write me a check but they want the title first. I can wait 4-6 weeks if i have to. But, there has to be a faster way right? If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Sign the title directly over to them, no need to go through all the DMV processing, unless the title is already in the DMV’s hands.
If it is, go to your local DMV office, and find out if they can print you a new title, tell them that you lost your original.
Also, drive more carefully.
Accidents to a new vehicle you just picked up really suck away the enjoyment factor.
But at least you get to have that feeling of getting a new car again so soon!
