I was driving today on the interstate and had the a/c cranking like normal. It was colder than the artic then all of a sudden it went cool, then a little warmer. When I exited the interstate and stopped at the first light, it went ice cold again, and went cool to cold and so on.
This can happen on many different cars.The only one I have actually seen were Chevrolet full size pick-ups 1998-1999 we replaced the low pressure cutoff switches. This is just my experience and may not fit you. Normal AC diagnosis must be done. In the future include model,year AC system maintiance history.
