It depends on the dealer. I went to one when I bought my 98 Pathfinder (Merchants Motors in Concord NH). They went over the vehicle and service. I told the service manager I would be doing my own oil changes and service. He then took me and two other people who would be doing their own service to the back and went over the vehicle showing us some of the things to look for. Showed us where the oil and gas filters were…how to use the special tool to remove the #6 spark-plug. Offered us deals on oil filters ($4 each if we bought a case). It was a nice experience.
Cool. I’ll have to keep that in mind when I go car shopping again.
