Honda Gas Tank

I drive a 1995 Honda Civic with 120,000 miles. This has been a great car and has had maintenance as called for. At about 105,000 miles it became difficult to fill the gas tank and the gas gague read full even when it had been driven 200 -250 miles. At 110,000 miles, my Honda dealer replaced the breather tube and two way vavle. This helped for a while. However, it is now very, very hard to refill the gas tank and the gague reads full all the time. Has anyone had a similar problem? Where do we go from here?

Are you in the habit of topping off the tank. That can clog the charcoal filter and result in what you are observing. Replacing the filter is the fix, if that is the problem.

When did the gauge start to malfunction. Was it only after the mechanic worked on it? It sounds like it may be stuck or more likely a wire or connector is loose or grounded at the tank.
