And as George mentioned, many/most of the dealers that SHOULD have those shims in stock do not

And the parts counter guy ALWAYS gives you a no-charge . . . and unwanted . . . wise-ass remark, such as “Nobody EVER asks for shims.” Or the even more idiotic remark “Valves are only supposed to be adjusted when they’re noisy.”"
