Honda crv 2004 LX

I have 102,000 miles on my vehicle. I was told by the honda dealership that the throttle body needs to be replaced. The cost is 950.00. I have a service bulletin from 2005 that applies to all Honda 2002-2004 crvs that indicates that there was a defective part in the throttle body. The diagnosis code is P122 tbs pedal position sensor. American Honda will not replace the part because it was a service bulletin not a recall. Any suggestions?

Pay the $950.00 and get it fixed. It lasted over 100,000 miles.

“American Honda will not replace the part because it was a service bulletin not a recall.”

And, neither would Toyota, Nissan, VW, BMW, Subaru, GM, Ford…
Therein lies the difference between a service bulletin and a recall.

If the part in question was truly defective, it would have failed long before your odometer got to anywhere near 100k miles.
Sorry, but this is going to have to be paid for by you.
