I found this video that you might not have seen, or maybe you have.
just so you know your vehicle can get over the air updates. on the new c8 corvette which does the same. they have found that if the key fob is to close to the vehicle, which is constant communication if too close. will drain the battery because of all the electronics and computers. especially if its trying to do a over the air update and something does not go as planned. it keeps trying to update and drains the battery. even when the car is in the garage and the fob is in the bedroom next to the car. not sure you will have this problem but its something to keep in mind. a lot of corvette owners keep their cars on battery tenders when not using them. probably just a chevy problem.

It is probably a setting in a sub menu. I seen there is also some sort of extra subscription for the voice command option. not sure if you have that. or maybe you need it for the extra stuff you dont have now. good luck with the car, stay safe, happy motoring. and like I tell my kids, dont mess with the radio settings while driving. LOL
Did the vehicle purchase include a subscription to Mercedes me connect? It should have came with one year of service. The delivery specialist should have loaded the app to your phone, if it was a delivery specialist and not just a lot attendant.
You can download the app yourself;
“If you’ve already left the dealership, your connected vehicle services can be activated and deactivated right from the Mercedes me connect app. Simply download the app, add your vehicle using the on-screen instructions, and then you are able to activate your services. Yes, one year subscription. All activated at delivery. I’m thinking the videos featuring the more conversational versions of Hey Mercedes are all UK videos. Maybe our Hey Mercedes versions aren’t so “blunt.” Lol.
It’s not unusual for mfrs to somewhat alter the standard equipment from one market to another, so that is a possibility.

There are two separate features, the speech recognition computer will adjust the radio, climate control etc. If you want personal assistance press the in vehicle call button to speak to an operator.
