I recall that he was a fan of this model.
@VDCdriver
I have changed my opinon somewhat over the yesrs. In 1965 when I earned my master’s degree and acceptrd a position as instructor at a university, zi bought a bottom of the line Rambler 550. It was about as close as I could come to a Studebaker Scotsman. The Rambler had no options except a radio. The Rambler got me through the next round of graduate school. I replaced the Rambler with a 1971 Ford Maverick. The Maverick had air conditioning, power steering and automatic transmission. It was a step up from the Rambler.and I enjoyed having these options. I currently own a 2017 Toyota Sienna minivan. I like the power sliding doors, the automatic temperature control for the heating and air conditioning, the cruise control, etc. I transport myself and fellow musicians with our instruments to gigs. I have had no problems with these options and the gas mileage is better than I got on the 1965 Rambler. I don’t want to go back to the Studebaker Scotsman period.
I already assumed that you had the good sense to reject the “everything was better in the Good Old Days” mantra, but I posted this because I thought you would enjoy seeing that old ad.
Hopefully, I was correct!
