Here's another one for @Old Mopar Guy

My get me in trouble, but think that is an Imperial. A line from Bob Hope on his show, brought to you by the Chrysler Crown Imperial, named after two margarines but runs smooth as butter.

A couple of years ago, I posted something similar-- but even less risquĂ©-- and the mods took it down after someone was “offended”.

Yep, I have observed some are thin skinned.

Is there a car in that picture? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The sticker from a '71 Imperial LeBaron.
The bottom line price would be equivalent to ~$67k today.

Oh wow. Way out of my league. About 1970 before everything went to heck, future wife and I were kinda eyeing the ford ltd. Seems to me it was about $2400. Kinda looking at a house on tut hill too. Young and dumb and a few hard years ahead.

At the restaurant, the boss used to buy one for his wife every year. One year she got a Lincoln instead, then it was back to imperials again. Never heard why. I always liked the fords better.

My uncle had a '58 Fireflite 4-door hardtop, which looked pretty similar to the '57 version.

All the Chrysler 58 products had very little change, the front fenders were already ready for quad headlights.
Hmm, denim jacket, must be smoking Marlboros😀

But, I think that the quality control was improved, as a result of a lot of complaints about poor assembly quality of the '57 models. Then again, maybe quality control wasn’t improved, based on the experience of my brother’s friend. He bought a 2 year-old '58 Chrysler New Yorker hardtop, and both of the torsion bars snapped when he hit a RR crossing at ~40 mph.

I had a 56 D eSolto Fireflight. Of all the cars I owned , that was my favorite. It would pass on a 2 lane road like few cars of its day.

No picture, but passed a ‘50 DeSoto two door sedan last night.

Ok, I’ll bite! What don’t you like about the decal?

Maybe the same reason a lot of Tacoma guys remove the TRD stickers off the side of the bed, or people de-badge their vehicles
 IMHO

Just personal preference. In my opinion detracts from the car’s appearance.

I’m not into decals or other IDs on the body. A nice, clean, smooth body works for me.

When I did model cars, it came with all kinds of decals and customized parts. I never used them and preferred stock. After all the design time spent in the first place, it’s hard to improve on the general design. Still I found not much pleasing with this design and the decal seems to take your eye away from the rest of the car.
