I recently bought a VW Golf !.4 Petrol. within the last week a howling noise starts when the revs are betweem 2 amd 3, and it is getting louder… also there is a ticking noise coming from engine at all times since i bought it, is this normal??
What year and how many miles on it? If you bought it new (or used with some sort of warranty), the obvious answer is to bring it back to the dealer. If you bought it used with no warranty, I would suspect some maintenance problems in its past.
i would stop running it so fast, revving it up, since you may be turning a relatively affordable repair into a HUGE expensive and costly rebuild.
can you drive it to a shop to have it checked out?
