installed new radio and when its on i lose all guages. when its off guages work normal?? in a 98 jeep grand cherokee
Sounds to me like the ground from the radio is attached to/touching/grounded to the hot to the gauges. Did you use the adapter harness you can pick up at many retailers like Best Buy and the like? If so, then it’s all something you did. It’s wired incorrectly, and you just need to go through it.

The quick and dirty approach would be to uninstall it and reinstall it (being sure to read the directions carefully). If it works, you’ve solved the problem without having to figure out what the problem is. Have you tried this?
If this is an aftermarket radio be sure it is not connected to the CCD bus (communication) wires, VT/BR, WT/BK.
