Hi,
I noticed this foul smell inside my Mom’s car and traced the odor to the bottom of the trunk bed where a pool of yellow pus was sitting. Something must have rotten because there were even maggots squirming in the pool! Since then, I’ve cleaned up the pool of “stuff” with various cleaners but for the life of me, I can’t get rid of the extremely repulsive odor. Any suggestions?! Thank you!!
Try hosing it down with Lysol disenfectant and/or Febreze. I’d suggest using bleach, but this may damage the liner in the trunk or even the metal beneath.
you will have to remove anything that has absorbed the ‘pus’ and a bleach wash followed by a good airing out should work…otherwise a steam cleaning of trunk.
