Hi. I’m looking for a hatchback that’s equivalent to a 1998 honda civic dx. Would like one that’s fair easy to maintain or find parts for and great on gas. Any suggestions?

Used or new? Aztek for used might be an option.
Toyota Matrix 2005-8
Lots of hatchbacks on the market, new or used. My choice for a used one would be a Toyota Matrix or Mazda 3 or Mazda Protege.
New ones include Mazda3, Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra, Kia and some leftover Toyota Matrix models.
Compared to that Civic, a Mazda 2 would be about the same.
Take a look at the Honda Fit, compared to an older Civic…Also the Ford Fiesta
