recently added premium gas to regular gas mix to fuel tank of 2000 dodge ram P/U. Since yesterday morning I have experienced several hard starts with rough idling after startup. Otherwise my truck runs fine afterwards. With last couple starts engine stalls when pressing gas pedal after start. Can anyone help shed some light on my problem?
Forget the octane rating of the gas. That isn’t making your engine idle rough or hard to start. It also won’t cure either of these maladies.
How long has the “Check Engine” light been on?
It may have been the gas, but not the octane. You could have gotten some bad gas with water or other contaminates in it, but frankly I doubt it.
Do you have an engine light on? Normally the things that might cause this kind of problem trigger an CEL (Check Engine Light).
