I have had a grinding sound when I brake that has gotten worse. I’ve taken it to the mechanic. I’m told my brakes are fine. The car also seems to be thrown out of alignment alot. I’ve had a few alignments done on the car. I’m not sure if they are related but I’m afraid something is just going to break off the car since the sound is getting worse. Oh, also the sound seems to only be heard inside the cabin because when I stop no one looks at the car and believe me, they would if they heard this awful sound. Thanks for any help 
What kind of mechanic did you take it to? Was it a national chain store?
Did the mechanic drive the car? Hear the noise? What was said about the noise?
Don’t hesitate to get a second opinion.
I took it first to the dealer where it was purchased and then to a local (recommended) mechanic and they were unable to duplicate the sound. Since then it has gotten worse. I don’t think that they will have any trouble hearing it now. I am planning on taking it back. I just wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts before I took it in. Thanks for your reply.
