OP, does your car have ABS? If so there’s some precaution you need to take to avoid damaging the ABS when you do this job. Otherwise it is something most folks who change their own spark plugs and oil/filter could do. There was a how to diy’er article on this topic in Popular Mechanics in the past 2 or 3 months.
Im almost certain this honda 03 does. Aren’t most cars equipt with ABS nowadays? well, if not how would I be able to check?
Look in your owners manual!!!
Consider it has ABS and use the following steps.
Beware some caliper pistons turn (like a screw), back into the bore. Compressing with a clamp will do no good and could damage a piston.
First top off the brake fluid tank.
When compressing the brake calipers/cylinders open the bleeder screw and allow the compressing of the piston to drain the fluid through the bleeder screw and into a drain pan. Never allow the compressing of the piston to push the fluid back through the lines and into the ABS.
Once the piston is compressed completely, close the bleeder.
Change out the brakes and refill the tank.
Wheels on, start the car, and depress the pedal a few times to pump the brakes back up.
Recheck the fluid level, and you’re done.
