I have no respect for those portraying their myths as truth.
No intolerance. I just say what they are and pay no attention to them.
It’s good to finally know that our opinions were not respected on any matter, and a good reason not to feed this troll and step away here too.
Do you have respect for Islam?
My former girlfriend, a Muslim who left Islam, has no respect for the “sick cult” she calls it.
The Mormon church?
Both women, whom I almost married, taught me all about their faiths.
Do you know anything about these religions?
It is my choice not to respect myths.
Do you respect the Church of Satan?
We can have respect for people and their beliefs Robt. We don’t have to agree with their beliefs to respect them. And calling them myths in the face of billions of believers is a good way to turn off every one to all conversations. Political discussions with name calling doesn’t work for the same reason. Use a disparaging label and the believer has to feel some insult when they are committed to that belief.
If you can’t get the distinction, it doesn’t surprise me, as obeying traffic laws that don’t conform to your ideology seems to be consistent with your remarks.
Well said.
But you have still not answered the question.
Just because billions fall for myths does not make the myths true.
Myth is not a disparaging word. Merely a correct one.
Your question doesn’t deserve the dignity of a response.
You say dagosa’s post was “well said,” but you clearly missed the point.
“Myth” is a disparaging term, since it reflects your hubris. “I don’t know” shows a lot more wisdom than “I know your religion is nothing more than a myth.” You don’t know, you believe, and you think your belief is the only true one. You are no better than those you condemn for thinking their beliefs are the only true ones.
The old ‘hide behind the “dignity” excuse’?
The point is understood.
I respect no myths, nor those who purport to know better and try to fool/coerce gullibles into believing their myths.
We don’t count on luck or God.
So it’s just coincidence that leads you believe that your habits are indeed correct? You’ve proven you don’t listen to reason or logic, if you’re an atheist, then you don’t look to a higher power. Obviously your automotive knowledge is lacking at best. And you are constantly trying justify your ongoing hypocrisy.
I’m curious how do you make decisions? It’s already been established that it’s not logic, it’s not rationalization, it’s not faith, and it’s defiantly not know-how.
Deists are not atheists. Deists believe God exists. Deists don’t accept man’s fairytales and myths to explain what man does not know.
Never have I claimed that this non “habit” is legal.
It is safe.
“ongoing” explaining is for new readers who have not read earlier posts.
Perfectly logical that if you see that there are no other vehicles, that is when the opposing lane can be safely utilized as a deceleration lane.
If you can’t see, due to foliage, structures, sun, etc., you don’take the risk.
In the middle of nowhere and you can discern there no vehicles approaching for miles, do you stop and wait for a red signal?
So I understand it a Deiest believes in God, yet dismisses other religions scriptures and explanations, whilst having no explanations of their own as to why things that cannot be explained conventionally are the way they are?
Correct.
Even though deists have no explanations of their own, the myraid man-made myths and fairytales alsoffer no crediblexplanations.
Godtalk!
So deists bring even less to the table then the people they question. Got it.
Yes. Deists bring NOTHING.
Deists are not atheists. Deists believe God exists. Deists don’t accept man’s fairytales and myths to explain what man does not know.
So basically deists believe in God but pick and choose what they want to believe, when they want to believe it. When it fits thier agenda or present whims.
Past deists include founding fathers Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin, intelligent men full of character and respect for others.
Present deists include Robert Gift, a person lacking respect for others, void of character and not that smart in ways of driving or communicating with others. Although he is very good at riding fences and using single sentence logic.
Robert, if you found this insulting (this was not my intentions) then you just got a taste of your medicine, was it bitter?
Why “insulted” where true?
If you wish to respect those who claim thathey know, that is your choice.
Would you have respected Hirohito the emperor/god?
Do you respect the Dali Lama? (Nice gig traveling the world if you can get it)
Deists don’t "pick and choose"
Deists reject all religious fairytales and myths.
True and false are things applied to facts, and your belief that all religions are myths is an opinion. You do know the difference between fact and opinion, don’t you? Treating your opinions like they are facts makes you more pompous than the religious leaders you criticize.
I’ve met the Dali Lama, and he is a very nice man. He didn’t insult my beliefs, even though I don’t share his. Unlike you, his mother taught him how to treat people with respect.
One of the silliest driving ideas I have ever heard, not to mention that it is illegal to cross a double yellow line, and illegal to travel the wrong direction (which is what you are doing).
No religious “fact” has ever been proven.
Not one.
Mormons, who proclaim theirs the ONE TRUE CHURCH, claim they have proof but won’t allow any of it to be seen. Perhaps we are all UNWORTHY of seeing it.
Years ago, I also met the Dali Lama.
He is a “nice” man. So?
He is fooling a lot of people. (I think he is DL #14. That’s his “job”.)
Better than working for a living many would say.
Yes. But very practical and helpful to those following behind.
(Over the years I have saved many semis from braking before heading upgrade because I was slowing in front of them to turn left.
When I am turning right, if the shoulder permits, I also MOVE RIGHT OUT OF THE LANE to not slow them down. Whenot possible to get out of their way, they often cross the double yellow line and pass me.
